Try a Free Class at Craftsy

I promise that I'll have updates of recent happenings soon. (I know I said that when I popped in for my last post. But the update is coming, really. Here's a preview--I broke my toe today. UGH)

Well, and here is a Halloween photo that I meant to post weeks ago! Sunny looks a bit bored with the whole princess thing, doesn't she?

For now, though, I want to tell you about Craftsy.  I've known about it for a while now, but for some reason had not taken the time to explore it until recently. Craftsy is a fun site, with online craft and photography classes. (So I was immediately drawn in.)

I found out Craftsy has free classes, so yesterday, I took the free mini-class, Professional Family Portraits. This class has good advice for anyone--for those new to portrait photography, as well as people who already have some portrait photography knowledge. While for me, some of the class was review,  I still came away with new information, tips, and techniques. (You really can get professional looking portraits without fancy lighting.)  I loved how concise and structured the lessons were. I loved that it was FREE.

Given how much I enjoyed this one, I'm looking forward to exploring the photography classes more.  The prices are very good, and so is the content. Quite a bargain.

I'm going to take the Hand-Painted Cake class next. It's free too.  (I didn't even realize there was such a thing as hand-painted cakes...) I'm thinking of trying the Crochet Lab class after that. It's not free, but it's reasonably priced and consists of nine lessons. I have basic crochet skills but could use a review, as I'd like to take my skills up a notch. My daughter wants me to teach her how NOT to make the edges of baby blankets crooked. Long story...

It's free to join Craftsy, and I recommend it highly.

    1. Yes, she's a cute little princess, isn't she? It's so ironic, because she's such a little scruffy tomboy! I love photography and would like to have a kids' themed portrait business at some point.

    1. My toe is already quite a bit better, so I'm grateful for that. (It won't be so bad standing so much while I'm cooking and baking for Thanksgiving. I was a little worried about that!)
