Throwback Thursday: Deb's Sleeves

That's me in the very shiny, teal dress in 1992.  I was the matron of honor at my sister's wedding.  My name isn't Deb.

Did you see Napoleon Dynamite?  Do you remember the scene where Napoleon tells Deb, "I like your sleeves. They're real big"?   Well, I can't look at this photo without those words running through my head.

I think my sister was a very pretty bride, big sleeves and all.  (And I still have that shiny, teal dress!)

  6. My Mom and I were in my aunt's wedding in 1994--the dresses look like very much the same style! I'm impressed that you still have that teal dress, and I wonder what styles will be looking like in another 20 years...

    1. I love how the styles change, and wedding styles have changed a lot! I don't know why I hung on to that dress--my daughter used to love playing dress-up in it. I'm curious about the styles in the future too!

  10. I think I wore that exact same dress to my senior prom in 1990. Also, I had another dress with ginormous puffy sleeves that I wore in my brother's wedding . . . my MIL removed the sleeves and made a purse out of them. So now, I have the dress with updated normal looking sleeves AND a matching bag! Enjoy your SITS day!

  17. My sister got married in 1994 or 1995. We had very similar dresses in a slightly lighter shade of shiny green, from JC Penneys. Do you remember when Penneys used to sell bridal stuff, like via catalog? :)
